About us
We are a queerfeminist¹, non-commercial, DIY event technology collective and ensure more diversity in event technology.

What we do

Technical support for events
We support events with sound and, if necessary, lighting technology - from planning to realisation. Our focus is on queer-feminist projects, but we generally work with anyone who wants to break down patriarchal and cis-male dominated structures in event technology.
We do not see ourselves as service providers, but as part of the event.
Workshops
We want to empower people who previously had little or no access to event technology - especially FLINTA* and other marginalised people.
Our workshops teach theoretical basics and practical knowledge: We set up a system together, connect microphones and mix initial signals. No previous knowledge is necessary.

Skillsharing
Would you like to try out event technology but don't (yet) feel confident on your own? We'll be happy to help you gain your first experience - as equals, in a spirit of solidarity and without any pressure to perform.

Our experience

DIY
We are a self-organised, growing collective with different levels of experience. Our work is characterised by learning together.
We do our best, try things out - and sometimes make mistakes. To do this, we need spaces with a love of learning and a tolerance for mistakes.

Funding
We do not work commercially. If you don't have any money, we can still support you - within the limits of our capacities. If you have funding, we ask you to honour our work fairly.
Guidance:
A fair hourly rate for us is currently €25.
If your budget allows for this, we are also happy to charge higher hourly or daily rates.
Most of the fees go into our collective fund - for further training, technology and infrastructure.

Structurally disadvantaged - what does that mean?
Event technology is a cis-male dominated field.
By ‘structurally disadvantaged’ we mean in particular: Women, lesbians, inter*, non-binary, trans* and agender people.
However, we also recognise other forms of discrimination (e.g. racist, classist or ableist structures) and do not limit ourselves exclusively to one definition.

FLINTA*?
We are not just a FLINTA* collective, but an all-gender collective with trans*, non-binary and questioning people. Many FLINTA* spaces are cis-female dominated in practice - so they are not always safe for many trans*, inter* and non-binary people.
If you ask us to organise FLINTA* events, please make sure that they are trans- and inter*-aware.

Why work collectively?
Collective work has a personal and a political dimension for us:
Personal:
We move as a group in spaces that don't always feel safe. The collective is a place of retreat - for sharing knowledge, reflection, support and empowerment.
Structural:
We are part of a queer feminist movement. We want to help shape social change - through shared responsibility, learning together and acting in solidarity.

Pinkwashing
We stand for real change - not for show.
We don't want to be booked as a token or feminist figurehead. If you ask us, then be aware: we are part of the event, not just technical support.
We want spaces in which patriarchal structures are actively scrutinised and changed.
